Kenny Omega spoke with UPROXX’s Austin Heiberg to talk about his upcoming IWGP Heavyweight Championship match against Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 11 on January 4th. During the interview, Omega commented on WWE signing several top ROH and NJPW stars over the last few years. 2016 began with WWE signing AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows after their contracts with New Japan Pro Wrestling had expired and then throughout the year the company signed other talents.

Omega stated that it seems that wrestling is headed towards a monopoly. He noted that WWE is hiring people just to hire them and that he is happy for those who receive a paycheck from WWE. “A lot of my good friends are now receiving work and receiving money. But sadly, a lot of those people are signing with WWE just to ride the pine. You can’t put all these guys on TV.”

Despite Omega being happy for those who are enjoying their time with WWE, he noted that it impacts other promotions. He stated that everyone would get signed by WWE and that all of these indy promotions will have to shut their doors because WWE is signing everyone and that everyone is going to lose an option. He wants options for wrestlers. He compared WWE to McDonald’s and other wrestling promotions to other burger restaurants. He wants to try something new or go to a different place than McDonald’s (WWE). “People who are wanting something more out of their programming. That’s what I want to provide for people in 2017.”

Prendo spunto dall'intervista all'internet darling Kenny Omega... per analizzare il momento di assoluta fagocitazione della WWE... con una razzia mai vista nelle varie indie.
In un passato remoto forse un sogno per tutto il movimento "potessi vedere finalmente xxx nel palcoscenico adatto e più prestigioso "...ora vero incubo per molti,ridotti a semplici comparse in un'accozzaglia di roster.
E quindi vi chiedo :
- chi è finito a fare il mozzone in Vicolo Corto/Stretto?
- chi è il Viale dei Giardini/il Parco della Vittoria che ha acquisito fama,soldi,notorierà ecc ?
- chi è l'usato e porto sicuro Società Elettrica/Acqua Potabile?
- chi è finito in prigione (di personaggio,feud,storyline) ?
- chi è nel Parcheggio Gratuito in attesa di momenti migliori?
- chi sono gli Imprevisti/Probabilità?
- chi è pronto a passare dal Via a prendere il solito gettone di presenza?

Ho trovato interessanti le dichiarazioni di Omega, il fatto di volersi porre come la principale alternativa al prodotto made in Stamford. Credo che la WWE con la venuta di Triple H si stia piano piano avvicinando al mondo indy, non a caso sembra quanto meno probabile l'approdo di qualche promotion sul Network. Ovviamente nel momento in cui hai un roster così ampio, risulta difficile dare a chiunque ottime opportunità (anche con tre distinti brand), qualcuno è stato premiato dal passaggio indy-WWE: Finn Bàlor, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, lo stesso Sami Zayn sembra ora trovarsi in feud di una certa rilevanza, Samoa Joe e Nakamura, che nonostante il debutto nel roster giallo sembrano essere ben considerati dalla dirigenza. In ogni caso tra questi ci sono sempre i classici Reigns, Strowman e Corbin che presenziano in una zona della card che non gli appartiene e gli sprechi come Cesaro, Anderson e Double A (se veramente verrà destinato alla categoria più inutile di tutte e tre gli show). Generalmente però, trovo che il salto nella principale compagnia di wrestling abbia premiato gli indy-guys.
Concludendo, per quanto The Cleaner possa essere adatto al prodotto WWE, da suo fan preferirei diventasse un'icona della NJPW e una valida alternativa al monopolio della famiglia McMahon.
